A group of Piedmontese Team members have decided to precede this event with a pilgrimage on foot, as a sign of solidarity with all God’s people, of prayer on the meaning of the journey, of commitment and reflection for Peace. This pilgrimage will take place from Friday 12th July 2024 to Monday 15th July 2024 on the “Don Bosco Way”, a newly redesigned itinerary that touches on the main stages of Salesian spirituality, perfectly in keeping with the proposals you will find at the Gathering. The walk will start from Colle Don Bosco, St Giovanni Bosco’s birthplace, and will end in Turin at the Pala Alpitour, where the International Gathering will take place. Indicatively, the stages will be about 20 km per day, with this scansion:
Friday 12th July, in the late afternoon, meeting at Turin Porta Nuova Station and transfer by coach to the Sanctuary of Colle Don Bosco
Saturday 13th July, first stage: Colle Don Bosco – Chieri
Sunday 14th July, second stage: Chieri – Baldissero Torinese
Monday 15th July, third stage: Baldissero Torinese (Superga) – Turin (Pala Alpitour)
The proposal is open to all team members who enjoy walking in the spirit of pilgrimage. The organisation will provide board and lodging in spartan accommodation (hostel type), in the spirit of the Spiritual Paths. Further logistical information will be provided later. The cost will be approximately 150 euros per person, all inclusive. Enrolment will be closed once the number of 40 individual participants has been reached.
